If you're looking for a pretty dress for Easter (or just to celebrate it finally being Spring!) check out Nordstrom's selection. I was so excited when I saw this gorgeous Vince Camuto tie waist dress!!! Both extremely flattering on AND comfortable! The quality is fantastic - nice matte fabric, pleasing texture, and silky soft navy blue lining. Fits pretty much true to size. However, if you're small in the waist/chest you may want to go down a size. I tried both the 2 and the 4 and the 2 (shown) was better for me.  Don't forget, you get free shipping and returns on all your Nordstrom purchases!

Love Kate Spade earrings to match this dress (and there are lots of other similar options too!) If you want something bigger/bolder, check out the Kendra Scott styles as well.

Also check out the Charles David heels I bought to match! (Closeup pic below.) These are a great neutral staple since the neutral tone matches pretty much any Spring outfit. It's nice to have your shoes match your skin tone since it gives the illusion of longer legs. For darker skin tones, check out this other Charles David style, or these, and these (limited sizes in that last style but SO pretty!) I would definitely say go up half a size from what you normally wear in the Charles David ones I am wearing. I'm normally an 8 in open toed shoes, but an 8.5 was perfect for me.

I'm wearing some of my favorite Nordstrom beauty products that I posted about recently too.

Favorite Nordstrom Beauty Picks (Oribe, Mac, Philosophy and More!)

If you don't already buy your makeup at Nordstrom, here are a couple of reasons you should. First, fast, free shipping with no minimum! (No need to spend time hunting down a parking place at the mall.) Second, you get free samples with your purchase (you'll be prompted to choose which ones at checkout.)

Nordstrom has lots of amazing beauty and fragrance brands, and these make wonderful gifts. Don't forget about Mother's Day coming up! (I know my mom would definitely appreciate some Nordstrom goodies.) And you don't have to worry about getting the size wrong.

Here are some of my favorite beauty picks (Click on any of the pink names below to get to the product.)

Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes - long lasting, beautiful colors in a huge variety of shades. A nice mix of metallic and matte tones. The one shown is the "Heat" palette but there are many others too. Great for creating that smokey-eye look!

Bobbi Brown Lipstick - Soft, smooth, long-lasting and non-drying.

Too Faced Bronzer - Not only does this stuff go on evenly and look great... it smells delicious. Like vanilla I think? Yummy. I wasn't expecting it to have a scent so that was a nice surprise.

Mac Studio Fix powder - This can be used instead of foundation, because boy does it cover up imperfections like nothing else I've ever tried!!! I don't need much at all, just a light sweep. If you have shine at all, you can use a little Mac blot powder over the top.

Oribe Shampoo (and conditioner, not shown) - The one pictured is for blondes and it adds volume to my hair and seems to make the color really pop. It smells INCREDIBLE and it looks a little different... (pic below). The conditioner is purple too and nice and light so it doesn't weigh my hair down. Since this stuff is pricey I save it for my "must have good hair" days.

Clinique Lash Building Primer - Goes on before mascara to make your lashes longer and thicker. Works REALLY well. You do want to have a metal lash comb with this and/or any mascara.

Mac Lip Liner - My favorites are 'Whirl' and 'Half Red.' Stays on nicely and doesn't bleed.

Lancome Definicils Mascara - This is the best mascara I have ever found, and I've tried many. You don't even need the primer above if you use this stuff (although you can get extra oomph that way). This stuff also seems to last a lot longer than other brands, as long as you screw the cap on tight.

Oribe Dry Shampoo - Stands apart from alllll the other dry shampoos I've tried because it smells absolutely divine, (most dry shampoo is stinky!) Works nicely to make hair look fresh and clean, and doesn't leave any weird residue. I use the blonde 'Gold Lust' type, which seems to make my roots less noticeable too. A less expensive option which seems to be the leading favorite in the Sample Sale Mom facebook group is Living Proof.

Philosophy Lip Glosses - Last but not least, the best (BEST!) lip glosses ever from Philosophy. They smell and taste amazing, last a long time and look great! Shine with a subtle hint of color. For SURE try the Philosophy shower gels too - I use them on my kids for shampoo (and some here come with a lip gloss as a bundle! Really cute gift!)

Nordstrom Spring (or vacation) picks!

Saturday, March 2, 2019

This post was sponsored by Nordstrom and contains affiliate links (I will receive a percentage of commission if you make a purchase through one of my links.)

My partnership with Nordstrom this month couldn't have come at a better time, since I was able to grab some fun things for our vacation to Costa Rica (where I shot all these pics!)

If you don't already shop Nordstrom online, you should, since you always get free shipping and easy returns (no minimum!) on the best brands with amazing customer service. Don't forget to grab any makeup/beauty items you need too - since you get free makeup samples with your purchase (you'll be prompted to choose which ones you want at checkout.)

First of all, let me tell you how much I love my sun hat. It was a splurge, but I found out last year that Eric Javitz hats are the BEST, when I went and tried on every straw hat I could find. A wide-brimmed hat is an absolute must if you're going to be out in the direct sun all day. And added bonus, you'll look stylish in all your vacation pics, even if you don't do your hair. My hat comes in a whole bunch of colors here. I'm wearing the 'peanut' color. If you don't want to break the bank, check out the budget-friendly options here - the Nordstrom house brand ones like this and the San Diego Hats are really cute!

My sunglasses are Ray Ban. At the time I'm posting, black or blue are available in the same style here. The pink/bordeaux color are available in a few other styles here.

This top is Free People and comes in several pretty colors (I love the cool pink). It's true to size, nice slouchy fit and the fabric is really nice (it's a blend of linen and cotton.)

These shorts are Caslon (the grey twill). They run true to size I'd say. But if in doubt, size up. Shoes are my Sanuk sling flip flops, that I have in many colors and wear all Summer long! They have a memory foam footbed so they are a lot more comfy than traditional flip flops.
